I gave in and read it. All three of them. It’s been a couple of months since I read them, but with all the talk about the movie, I decided to share my thoughts on the matter.
First of all, to whomever that’s casting the movie, if you don’t choose Ian Somerhalder for the role of Christian Grey, you should probably find another career. Ian just has that look.
He is amazing as Damon Salvatore in Vampire Diaries. sometimes during the show, he doesn’t even have to say anything , but he’ll still have effect on us because we don’t know if he’s about to kiss someone, slap them, bite them or whatever and that’s the type of demeanor Christian Grey has. He’s not a pretty happy go lucky boy, nope, he’s very much fucked up in the head. I’ve seen Ian play other roles, he plays fucked up way better.
Matt Bromer, who plays Neal Caffrey in White Collar, is another favorite for some to play Christian Grey. This man is beautiful. Now, the show is really good, but the only reason why I watch it is to see him in a suit.
Hmm, yum. Unfortunately, I don’t believe he’s a good fit for the role. He’s more of a charmer, I can picture him playing a role of a womanizer, not a crazy ass Dominant (oh, and yes, real-life Dominants do get married) with mother issues.
The other roles should be easy to cast, but it’s the role of Christian Grey that’s more important mainly because there’s so many sides of him (hence 50 shades) and they need to pick the right person to capture each one.
(Disclaimer: I am well aware that this trilogy is highly glorified and does not resemble a real-life D/s M/s relationship. Thank you very much.)
